The Lemniscate Triskelion Sporran Flap

$70.00$95.00

To honor the origins of the design, we created the Triskelion Interchangeable Sporran Flap with our unique design, which is arranged in an intentional 3-part graduated design. Our Triskelion is a unique derivation of the antediluvian“Triskele” spiral design that dates to the Neolithic era. The outer perimeter of the flap is filled with our classic, which contains the middle ring of ornate lemniscates (infinity symbols). Appropriately, these encircle the elaborate, knotted Triskelion.

Made from hand-selected top-grain vegetable tanned leather, the Interchangeable Sporran Flap comes in various finishes including Classic, Chocolate, and Bronze, and has been distressed to give it an Old World feel. The color may vary slightly due to the nature of the hand-rubbed stain.

Description

About the Lemniscate Triskelion:
First observed at the Newgrange Stone Age passage tomb in Boyne Valley, Ireland, the “three-legged” spiral was adopted by ancient Pagan Celts, and heavily developed into numerous variant designs in the British Isles before the influx of Christianity. Though its original meaning is lost to the ages, its importance to the civilizations that have adopted it remains significant. The Triskelion has been conflated with the Holy Trinity in the modern Christian tradition.

Functionality:
The flap attaches to the back of the bag at the top with heavy-duty snaps. There are two D-rings to attach the sporran to a belt. The loop will comfortably fit on a 2.5-inch belt should you choose to wear it that way.
