The Thistle and Cross Targe

A Highland Targe by Mike Pruette

This custom commission was a collaboration of the clients desire for a thistle and cross.The knot work inside of the cross was inspired by the stone cross monoliths that dot the Highlands.

This Highland Targe is 19 inches in diameter, 3/4 in. thick and weighs 9 lbs. It features custom hand tooled designs. The brass boss in the center is hand hammered brass and etched with Celtic designs.

This 19 in. round targe is  It features tooled knots and Celtic Dragons. The brass boss in the center is hand hammered, and has a 7 in. removable brass spike in the center.

This targe is fully functional, but is intended as celtic art. It will be an heirloom that you will want to pass down to your children.
